    OK, everything looks good!

    I have learned s.th. new.
In a mixed environment with MBR and GPT disks the Bootmanager doesn't count the partitions before the EFI partition. That why I thought you boot from disk 0.
Harddiskvolume2 is on disk 4 and not disk 0

Thank you & have a nice day

    @Pentagon

I've followed all of your cmd steps, when I get to the end and try to enable reagentc, I get an error saying:

Windows RE cannot be enabled on a volume with BitLocker Drive Encryption enabled. This is a fresh Windows install so I'm not even sure how to proceed.

What does this message mean? Do what? Disable what?

This is what command prompt shows when I try to run "reagentc /enable" at the end of your list

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

This error may be seen if the recovery partition is still too small. Assuming that is not the case, use diskpart to check the ID of your recovery partition, resetting it if necessary. In Diskpart select the recovery partition and use the command detail partition. For MBR it should be 27, for GPT it's DE94BBA4-06D1-4D40-A16A-BFD50179D6AC. To reset a partition ID use the Setid command.

    ... I got an error:
REAGENTC.EXE: Windows RE cannot be enabled on a volume with BitLocker Drive Encryption enabled.

... as it couldnt find a suitable partition. In the log (C:\Windows\Logs\ReAgent\ReAgent.log) I could see:

failed to find target partition: 0x2

Using diskpart (selecting the correct partition) I was able to fix the issue using:

    set id=27

This is definitely not an id-problem.
The message says that it is impossible when bitlocker is enabled.

It still could be an ID problem, it certainly was in the example I quoted. The ID was incorrect, so reagentc /enable couldn't find a suitable recovery partition. In that case it's fall-back position is to put the recovery environment in C:\Recovery\WindowsRE instead - which of course it could not do if C: is bitlocker encrypted.

    I would bet 1000 $

With some background knowledge you can configure a reliable Recovery Environment without a single reagentc-command!
But when Zizzy can't interpretate the message, I can't help.

Your problem is not easy - it's very easy and not a single 3rd-party tool is needed!
You only have to know how to run "Command Prompt" as Administrator.
    when you see this:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>
you are on the right way.

Then copy the following commands and paste into command prompt:
    step by step
    reagentc /disable
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    sel par 5
    delete partition override
    sel par 4
    extend
    shrink minimum=1024
    create partition primary
    format quick fs=ntfs label="Recovery"
    set id="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac"
    gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
    exit
    reagentc /enable

The update will be installed successfully!

    Hello Master,

I am getting an error while entering the last commands, can you please help me? Thank you

    I can't enter these two commands :-/

    EDIT:
OK, it was enough just to enter the change to ID 27 for MBR, @Bree thank you
