KB5034582 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework MOUSE ISSUE

After January 23, 2024-KB5034582 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 my Logitech G7 203 Prodigy wired and G7 305 Wireless mouse will BREAK such under circumstances the mouse will auto select and lock onto the bottom object. You can weed your way through and correct it but it will show up again - Something to do with files in Win Temp - Got it working but haven't put my finger on it yet !

You can Fix it by rebooting but it's a BUG.

    - - - Updated - - -

This Issue has become a real BITCH - It seems when ever I delete something from the RecycleBin the mouse auto focus's on the lower object and you can't even Reset your Computer because it focuses on Sleep.

I'm presently running all my Anti-Virus Apps Defender, Malicious Tool, Malwarebytes, Stinger and if that don't work I will attempt to uninstall KB5034582 and if that don't work I will over-write the system with a previous 1 month old Macrium Reflect Image - SHISH!

Before Uninstalling KB5034582 or dumping a new Image I will UN-Install the mouse Driver a ReBoot - Fingers CROSSED ;o)

    Welcome to tenforums.

I will attempt to uninstall KB5034582 and if that don't work
Rather than restoring an image, if you can't uninstall it, use a System Restore point. That has no effect on personal data.
I have a restore point created daily on schedule (see the searchable Tutorials section).
    (Great you're using imaging, though)

As for preview updates, and noting you have Pro, I have these blocked using group policy.

If you do uninstall the update, expect it to be offered again unless you block or 'hide' it. (Tutorial available).

    No Virus found!

The issue only happens after a restart when you select all items in a window then close it then it transfers a mouse locked on the last item of every window after that - Logging off and Back on Fixes it - That's providing you have made alternative provisions to do so in the context menu or else your stuck with a continuous loop of the issue.

This only happened after the January 23, 2024-KB5034582 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 and you cannot uninstall that update ;o(

I'll live with it for now until I decide to over-write the OS with my Macrium image but I'll NEVER install a Cumulative Update Preview again.

Thanks for your help - I did have my system NOT to Install previews at one time but I forgot how I did it.

    F(&(K^%G Microsoft Shit - LOL

Kindly refrain from objectionable language. That deters respondents. Want a response? Don't use it.

Sorry about cussing but I was rather frustrated over that stupid cumulative preview update

Thanks for the Group Policy Info

In the mean time I download WAU Manager but will likely Over-write the System with my Macrium Image minus that Preview Update.

Thanks again - You have been a patient GEEK ;o)

You can marked this thread as SOLVED

The issue ended up being a cantankerous "SHIFT" Key on my Keyboard.

SORRY for the trouble but none the less learned something NEW and will visit TenForums more often - Thanks
