    windows update

I have never had an update fail. but now i have one and i do not know how to fix it. Or ow to remove it from the windows updates so when new updates come this will not be there. Is it possible to remove /delete or hide an update. This is what i get. I tried having some one fix it but their answer was reinstall the operating system. here is what it says There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643). Thank you in advance

You need to enlarge the recovery partition that's why you get this error like many other people.

so i am not the only one getting this error. i do not want to fool around with the partitions and mess up whatever i hav. will it eventually let me install future updates? If i understand what it says it is not critical. Will it eventually go away for new updates

Yes it will let you install future updates.

If you want to install the update that gives the error you can try to enlarge the recovery partition with the minitool partition wizard software. It's much easier than with the Microsoft tutorial.

"This update addresses a security vulnerability that could allow attackers to bypass BitLocker encryption by using Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). For more information, see CVE-2024-20666."

As I have said many times now, you can hide the update. Tutorial available, or use WUmgr (free, easier).

Note: rather than rush into creating a thread and asking all the questions about an update, it's often a really good idea to go to the News section (at the top) and READ the article and scan the comments about it to see if others are experiencing the same.

You can imagine the scores of people who might post about exactly the same issue.

Google can help you too. E.g. search for update number and error code. Try it! Thanks.
