.. .. problems installing updates, but we値l try again later.

I'm an obsessive curator of my own standalone W10 machine, updating regularly and with frequent sfc /scannow checks resulting almost always in a clean report.
Today the only outstanding update is the usual frequent Security Update but several attempts are unsuccessful with the message "There were some problems installing updates, but we値l try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643)".
I've had this endless recurrence once before and I recall that the fix is quite trivial and takes almost no time (some file deletion? just dunno) but for the life of me cannot remember the detail and cannot find it amongst the deluge of responses to google searches.
    Can anybody please help?
    Fergus
PS If the "try again" msg occurred as the depressing endnote to an avalanche of major updates (Cumulative this, Malicious that) (or even worse "We were unable to complete .. .. reverting .. ..") I'd probably just do a fresh install but the mere glitch of a failed regular Security Update makes me hope for the simple fix just referred to .. .. thank you!

Tenforums is going to be inundated with queries on this.

Please- first try searching tenforums or looking at the relevant News item for the update (which? you don't say, but I can guess).

    Please see:
    KB5034441 Security Update for Windows 10 (21H2 and 22H2) - Jan. 9

    Similar addressed in comments following
    KB5034122 Windows 10 Cumulative Update Build 19044.3930 and 19045.3930

    It's a recovery partition issue.

    with frequent sfc /scannow checks
    - unncessary. I never bother- no clean install for 6+ years.
