Windows update show 23H2 installed winver show 22H2

Hi. Im baffled. I went back to a full os disk backup (its a full one the whole disk not just a regular backup) and when i write winver i get this (check images) and windows update tells me something else, i know i was on 23H2 but now when going back to this backup even though it backed up when i was on 23H2 it says 22H2, its obvious also when you look at the timestamp when updates where made, i have 22h2 current date updates and 23h2 update that is in the past, so i should be on 23h2 not 22h2 makes no sense.

I cannot really answer this but it's possible that winver.exe needs to be updated and that might not happen until a future update.

    That's just a guess.

Personally I prefer to run this portable app:

    DtWinVer v2.66

Maybe try it and see if it gives better results.

    Changelog:
    Note   Note

    Provided a new IsWindows11Version23H2 method.
    v2.60 (1 October 2022)

I'm still on windows 10. The executable for that app is in the "binaries" folder.

As it seems you're using Win 11 (there's no 23H2 for Win 10) please register on and use elevenforum.com

    Thanks.

    You didn't mention you're running Win 11
As you're running Win 11 you should post at Elevenforum (Windows 11 Forum).

No worries. It clearly shows Windows 11 was installed in your first post in this thread so there should be no confusion.
