"KB4023057 <install>" appears each time I check for updates

If I click on <install> it disappears immediately - and NO installation occurs . . .

Next time I check - it is there AGAIN - and we go round the loop again?

I thought to uninstall it, and let it re-install properly but it is missing from <installed updates>

so I cannot (apparently) delete it?

    How to proceed???

Hi, first, a simple point- don't keep manually checking for updates. There's no need- Windows does this automatically- so you can be doing something useful.

Second, this is the thread on that KB from the News section- about what it is - and please feel free to read the pages of comments for similar experience.
    KB4023057 Windows 10 and Windows 11 Update Service components - Oct.27

It is an ongoing update which is updated on an ongoing basis, if you see what I mean.

    Third- the MS page:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...1-7e392450fb3a

Note a secton there about what may stop it being deployed:
    - there's a service to check, and...
You might have to allow the following endpoints if they are blocked in the device's firewall settings, or an upstream firewall:
    *.blob.core.windows.net port 443
    deploymentscheduler.microsoft.com port 443
    Devicelistenerprod.microsoft.com port 443

If your tenant is in the EU region:
    devicelistenerprod.eudb.microsoft.com port 443
    Feel free to try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

it is missing from <installed updates>
I see this update listed in my Update History, not under Control Panel, Installed Updates.

But as said below, as Microsoft Update Health Tools, under Programs and Features.

Have a look in "Installed Programs" instead.

I see KB4023057 in Update History.
I also see "Microsoft Update Health Tools" in Control Panel > Programs and Features (which is the same thing).

And, as mentioned above... this is a recurring update. It pops up about every month or two, and has been since February 2021.

I'm on my Win11 just now and got that KB back in Sept. '23 and again in Nov. '23.

It's probably a bit like the Definitions update for Microsoft Security/Windows Defender, same KB number but version updates.
