Why do i keep getting this updating message.

I have an older ASUS that almost every time i shut it down it tells me don't disconnect power updating, then it go's into % of updates being downloaded to this computer it's running Win 10.

Then when i restart the computer it's installing the updates.

Anyone else ever have this happen on an older system.

It's possible that the update repeats because it has not succeeded.

Have a look at your Update History and post a screenshot.

** The forum prompted you for your full build number (so we don't have to keep asking) - which is... e.g. 19045.3803...?

And thank you for your reply.

Still no build number, no screenshot of Update History.
May I suggest you're not helping yourself by not providing info and evidence?

How do you shut down? Usually if there's update(s) pending, the shutdown process via Start > Power > ... offers/indicates whether to shutdown/restart with/out applying updates.

If an update is still downloading after others have been done, frequently on Patch Tuesday, the prompt to restart comes after the others have completed but tend to be during a download but I don't do that, just let the download finish followed by the install. Corruption can happen if processes are not allowed to finish.
