Turn off your updates using an updated version of "Shutup windows 10 / Shutup10"
is there anybody can install this update to 21H2 properly? its showing errors to my 10pro 21H2
ps: (i dont want to upgrade 22H2 so i blocked that update because of my WinMail fyi)
How did you block the update to 22H2? I hope you used 'target feature update' to do it 'properly'.
(Tutorial available).
Winmail? As in Win 7?
- and what might those be exactly?its showing errors
Note this:
fromWe strongly recommend that you install the latest servicing stack update (SSU) before you apply this update. The latest SSU for your version of Windows can be found in ADV990001 | Latest Servicing Stack Updates.

Hence my first question above...
I blocked it with WindowsUpdateFix.diagcab executable. and yes, even vista. I'm using the same pop3 mail program with same mail archive like more than ten years (WinMail) and there are tutorials at SevenForums for "how to use WinMail under w8 w10 even w11. But every Feature updates deleting everything. Thats why i decided to stay at 21H2.
About error; it's starting to negotiate and starting to download ( as i can catch with my older eyes) and it turns to be stopped and gives this code (0x80070643)
Also i checked the link you gave me before, and i saw it supports 21H2 but errrrrr...
Ok, researching the error number suggests several possibilities.
In particular see: 8,9,10,11
How to Fix Windows Update Error 0x80070643
Also see:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10
Note: I really recommend you use 'target feature update' if you wish to block 22H2 (or later.. if there is one).
Note that 22H2 is a trivial enablement package, not a full feature update.
I moved on from Winmail to Thunderbird. Having had Outlook Express, then Winmail binned by MS, I vowed never to rely on MS for an email client again.
Do consider updating to 22H2. It is the last Version of Windows 10 so whatever you now do to get your current problem solved will probably last you until October 2025.
Best of luck,
Denis
WU found this update yesterday but it repeatedly failed to install, even after several troubleshooter runs.
So I have used Windows Update Show/Hide to take it out of the equation altogether.
Belarc Advisor says I'm up to date with all updates anyway.
I see from other threads it's a known issue.
So to get an answer to this error: 0x80070643
It just means: “ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE” and the specific update KB5001716 has to be withdrawn by MS.
There is nothing you can do!
