    Turning off automatic updates, as I have also done, allows you to update Windows at a time of your choosing. For me, as explained in the link I first gave you, that time is after I have made a new system image & backed all my own files up.
    [Except for Defender updates, which I run twice daily. Update ... Defender - TenForumsTutorials]

Disabling downloading of Updates

Is it possible to disable automatic downloading of Windows Updates? I am connected by cellular tethering about 50% of the time and I don't want it to use up my internet.
Right now, you can't disable automatic updates in Windows 10. You will get all updates eventually. In some environments, this won't work. Some environments need to keep computers static. And it's undesirable to disable the Windows Update...
