I have tried 1,2,3 and 4 in this list to no avail. I'm kind of saving 6 as a second last resort, and 5 as a last resort.

I did also do a DISM followed by a SFC, it did not find any errors this time but update still will not install.

Thanks for your assistance, I will see what else I can find, if nothing else works I will try the WMCT.

The Windows Media Creation Tool seems to have done the trick. I was a bit apprehensive on this, but it installed without problems, and cleared up the update issue like a charm.
