How to stop windows 10 from updating to windows 11

    Hello, forum.

My PC recently has started to give notifications about installing windows 11 (I'm currently on windows 10).
How can I turn this off until I wish to install windows 11 myself without needing to worry if its going to automatically install itself?
I'm happy the way my system works, and have fears that some apps might not be compatible with windows 11, so I want to avoid the drama for the time being.

    Thank you.

Eh I think if that is what your update settings page already looks like, then it is too late. Next time you restart you will be in Windows 11...

Do you do backups (via Macrium Reflect, etc) so that you could easily roll back to Windows 10 ... ?

After upgrading to Win 11 you can roll back to Win 10 anyway- assuming all goes well.
The default is within 10 days, extendable to 60 (tutorial available).

It may be you can delete the pending update (no guarantees):

The theory is that the Win 11 upgrade is opt-in only, however there have been reports of it happening to users regardless.

In future, should you wish to stay on '10, as is widely published on the internet if you were to search, use 'Target feature update' to prevent it. Tutorial available- in the searchable Tutorials section. Or described in one of the many places where this is given.

It may be possible to delay the reboot:

I don't disagree but the TenForumsTutorial is much more comprehensive. It cleans out what that Pureinfotech cleans out and more.
    Reset Windows Update - TenForumsTutorials

If it is possible to avoid the update given its present pending status then Reset Windows Update - TenForumsTutorials is the tool to do it.
If Reset Windows Update - TenForumsTutorials cannot do it then I think it cannot be done.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

The action that that Pureinfotech thing suggests is included in the actions conducted by the Reset Windows Update - TenForumsTutorials batch file.
    - The Reset Windows Update - TenForumsTutorials batch file also includes stopping relevant services to allow the necessary deletions & other measures to be done successfully.

    All the best,
