    New Windows 10 update

Today when I resumed Windows Update a new KB4023057 got installed.

It seems to be an "Update for Windows Update Service components" https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...1-7e392450fb3a

I don't see it mentioned in "Windows 10 News" sub-forum.

    Has anyone else got it?

I did have it but removed Microsoft Update Health Tools via Control Panel > Programs and Features.

    Hope this helps...

Yes, I do see it as "Microsoft Update Health Tools" installed today in Control Panel > Programs and Features. But why did you remove/uninstall it? Any reason why one should?

KB4023057 - Update for Windows 10 Update Service components - TenForumsNews

It gets re-issued once or twice a year.

I thought it had been superceded by
KB5005463 PC Health Check Application - TenForums
merely because they both seem to be associated with the Windows PC health check component that you'll see in Control panel, Programs & features.

    All the best,

The 1st release of KB4023057 was Feb. 2021
MS has been releasing it every couple months since then.

My first shortcut to an MS info page about KB4023057 is dated 7/7/2018

[Not that it matters but the shortcut is to the regularly updated MS page KB4023057 Update for Windows Update Service components - MSSupport]

Call me cynical but I just see these Windows Update Health tools as Microsoft trying to stop third-party tools that block Windows Update.

Since the demise of adequate inhouse quality testing of these updates, many of us prefer to ignore any of Microsoft's own deferment tools and, instead, rely on our own judgement when it is safe to update. However, it's a personal choice.

    Hope this helps...
