Have you checked the support page for your PC on the manufactures website, to see if there is an Intel Chipset driver update, or download the Intel Driver and Support Assistant from their website to see if that finds and installs that chipset update?

I don't see clear confirmtion you've used the tutorial I posted for you.
If you haven't yet used that, do so.

    If you have:

    1. Have you ever done anything to disable Windows Update?

    2. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and post a screenshot of the result.

    3. Tweaking.com's free repair tool (Google/search) offers a repair some have found useful.
Use only the appropriate repairs- don't select all. Use cautiously.

    4. You can perform an in-place upgrade repair install
which keeps all progs and data

This essentially the same process as a major build upgrade.

    a. Download iso file using the MS media creation tool
    b. rt click iso file
    c. click Mount
    d. Open new drive letter created
    e. double click setup.exe

Try also disabling Windows defender realtime protection and try again.

Too much fussing, no need to do anything at this point.
Looks like MS servers are probably post holidays overloaded or something in your area, hence the Status.

    Maybe wait a few days.

Hearing that you have other laptops that are updating just fine reminded me of a problem I had once with Windows Update that was resolved by preventing Windows Update from trying to download updates from other computers on a local network,

Select Start , then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options.
    Select Delivery Optimization.
Make sure Allow downloads from other PCs is turned Off.

    Hope this helps,Fox Computers

And Yes!!!! the in-place upgrade repair install worked and I am able to download key updates.
However, this one is just hanging:

Great! some relief.. as to that one- is it an optional update? You could try researching it and download it manually.

There are other reports of problems with that one if you search for
    Intel Corporation - Extension - 22.1120.0.1

(which I screen OCR'd for you for search purposes)

I guess we have to live with this un-necessary Intel update.
Can't seem to want to go away.
