Unless I'm reading it wrong the problem seems to be it only allows one to uninstall then hide the update after the fact and only temporarily, not what I want. I'll have to look at it closer.
I think it only contains a function to hide an update. Removing one is not included in that file; the function to remove updates from Windows still is available in the Control Panel under Installed Programs.

It in fact says "temporarily", but reading its description you will notice that this is not what it does:
In Windows 7/8.1 you could always hide single updates. However, when later a new version of that update got released, this new version got displayed anyway - also if the old version had been hidden. That is exactly what this tool does as well.
You can e.g. hide a driver update and it will be hidden. But if later a newer version of that driver gets released, that one will not be hidden and will by default be installed.

Okay but I still would like the old method, and have windows notify me before I download and install this one looks more like I have to check it constantly.
Don't know if I'm going to keep Windows after this, heck the only reason I use Windows is because I like my PC games........ Might be time to go to an Xbox 360 (not Xbox one) and change all my computers over to Linux, maybe keep one with Win 7 and eventually disconnect it from the internet just to play PC games on. Dunno yet.

In Windows 10 Home, Windows itself does not offer a way to prevent updates from installing. Also the enterprise versions don't. They only allow you to defer upgrades for a limited time.
