    Stopping updates

I have a very old laptop with windows 10.0.15063 loaded on it. It tries to download the update to the next build via windows update but the installation fails and it reverts back to the version it was at. Each time it does this quite a few gigabytes are uselessly downloaded. How do I permanently stop this version of windows from checking for updates?
    TIA
    Nick

    Hello @Nickynoo,

Have a look at this => How to Specify Target Feature Update Version in Windows 10

The above Tutorial is what I have used.

Also, have a look at the Related Tutorials at the BOTTOM of the above Tutorial, as they may also be related.

If that is NOT what you are after, there are ways to stop WU's which we can provide for you.

    I hope this helps.

If you need to disable Windows Updates altogether, this is a very frequently discussed topic, which you will find more about very easily by searching tenforums.

There's a whole tutorial- from the searchable Tutorial section- do have a look- and more. Trivial methods are not advised. There are good ones that work, starting with

Unfortunately I didn’t realise that it seems you need to know the current password in order to change it.
Does your browser automatically save passwords/log in information?
