No Cumulative Updates for 2 months.

I haven't received any quality (cumulative) updates since the 11th May. The MSRT (KB 890830) comes through each month, as well as the regular Security Intelligence updates for Defender, but nothing else. Windows Update says I'm up to date once I've received these updates and I can't see anything amiss with my update settings, My Windows version is W10 Pro 20H2. Until June I never had an issue with updates. Any suggestions please?

Yes, that is correct. Your Windows version reached end of support on 10th May meaning it will get no more cumulative quality/security updates. You need to update to a newer version to continue getting updates. The current version is 21H2, you should see it offered as an optional update in Windows Update.

Hi, I note you have Pro. If you've not been offered an upgrade, have you perhaps used this group policy?
How to Specify Target Feature Update Version in Windows 10

Alternatively, if this is the Dell Vostro 470 in your specs, it appears to be from around 2012.

It's therefore possible no further upgrades will be delivered - there may be a safeguard hold, for example, for your protection. Read the introduction here carefully:

OK. I had no idea that was the case, but that would explain it. I don't see any reference on my Win 10 update page that offers the option to upgrade to 21H2. 'Check For Updates' is supposed to show me the option of upgrading according to MS, but it doesn't. Does this mean I'm going to have to do a fresh install of Win10, or is there a more efficient, alternative means of doing this?

No, you don't need to do a clean install. Actually you already have the code for 21H2 installed via the cumulative updates, but it is dormant. To turn it on you just need to install a small enablement package.

The links to download the 21H2 enablement package .msu file are at the top of this post:

    KB5005611 Windows 10 2004 19041.1266, 20H2 19042.1266, 21H1 19043.1266

. Download the appropriate one for your system then double-click on it to install it.

You may see a warning when you try to download it because the link is to an http server, in Edge it looks like this:

No Cumulative Updates for 2 months.-image.png

Click the ... and select Keep, then click Keep anyway. This is safe to download as you are downloading from a Microsoft server, the warnings are because this is an http address, not a secure https one. This used to be a problem with any file you tried to download from their Update Catalog at catalog.update.microsoft.com, but MS have now migrated almost all their downloads to a secure https address. Unfortunately this is one of the few that didn't get migrated.

    @Bree
that's because the KB5003791 21H2 enablement package was never listed nor mentioned in the MS catalog site and only offered thru windows update and WSUS; attempting to search for KB5003791 on the Catalog site produces no results

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-6f6dad2cd384

    How to get this update

    Release Channel Available Next Step
Windows Update and Microsoft Update Yes None. This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. The update is named Feature Update to Windows 10, version 21H2.
Microsoft Update Catalog No This update is only available through the other release channels.
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Yes This update will automatically synchronize with WSUS if you configure Products and Classifications as follows:
    Product: Windows 10
    Classification: Upgrades
WSUS & SCCM use outdated http MS links and not https links

That KB5003791 only shows on my Win10 Pro in the Uninstall an update list, was installed on 10/6/2021.

As recently as 7 months ago so did the Update Catalog. MS only changed that to https links a little while back.

Why are MS Update Catalog downloads flagged as potentially unsafe?

    This might help,

'You can upgrade to Windows 10 21H2 using the enablement package if you are already on any of the following Windows 10 Versions – 2004, 20H2, or 21H1. You will also need to make sure that Windows 10 devices have installed the 2021-09 or later Cumulative Update (KB5006670). After installing the October month LCU, you will have to restart your computer to receive the Windows 10 21H2 enablement package.' ,
