Is my PC compatible to Windows 11

My computer is about 6 years old, and has the following hardware:

OS Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit. Version: OS build 19044.1706. With all available updates
    Intel DH67CL motherboard
    Intel CPU i52400
    RAM 8GBs Dual channel DDR3
    3 Hard drives:: 2 x Corsair Force 3 SATA SSD 111GB; 1 x Corsair Force 3 SATA SSD 119GB

What modifications do I need to upgrade to Windows 11?

For a start your windows is out of support https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...d-6aadec51d51c

So you need to update then test to see if your pc is compatable https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/wind...specifications

    Hello @Mustang,

    Additional to the above.

To check your computer for Win 11 compatibility, download and run the Stable Release [ pre-compiled open-source executable ] from here . . .

    > WhyNotWin11 - GitHub

It is an Application file and does NOT require any installation. Just download it to the Desktop and run it.

It is also available from here . . .

    > WhyNotWin11 - MajorGeeks

    If you want a Portable version . . .

    > WhyNotWin11 - Portable - PortableApps

    I hope this helps.

i5-2400 is not "officially" compatible. You can get it to work fine, so I shouldn't worry. Works fine on my 3rd gen machines.

I haven't bothered doing the "upgrade".

Usually I just apply the image from the win11 media to a spare partition and add a boot menu entry.

A lazy way to do it is with JFX winntsetup

Your PC is not an officially supported device. Your 2nd gen i5 is below the minimum 8th gen requirement.
    Windows 11 supported Intel processors

Your motherboard does not support anything newer than a 3rd gen Intel processor.

Having said that, there are workarounds to install or upgrade to Windows 11 on an unsupported device. I have found that it can run on almost anything.
    Let's install Windows 11 on a incompatible hardware | Page 36 | Windows 11 Forum

But if you want to be sure your PC will be supported you'd need to upgrade the motherboard and CPU. It may be more economical/practical to build a new machine for Windows 11.

Intel Desktop Board DH67CL Product Specifications

also, the Intel DH67CL board appears to have been released in early 2011, before UEFI came out (most likely a non-uefi board)

Another option is to run Windows 11 in a virtual machine. For example, here are the specs for a my 10 year old computer.

    MBD: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (1.0)
    CPU: AMD FX-8350
    RAM: GSKILL Ripjaw-X DDR3-1600 8GB (2x4GB)
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1060 6GB
SSD: Samsung 870 EVO 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD
    HD1: WD Blue 1TB 3.5" SATA HDD
    HD2: WD Blue 1TB 3.5" SATA HDD
    P/S: Corsair RM750x (2018)
    O/S: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
Here is Windows 11 Pro running on that old computer in Hyper-V. Note Hyper-V can emulate Secure Boot and TPM.

    @Mustang -

I would give this a blind shot.

Download and install VMware player here:

    VMware Workstation Player | VMware

Setup the environment in VMware settings to emulate the TPM chip.
Then try to install Windows 11.

Add TPM to a VMWare Player virtual machine for Windows 11

    I never tested this.

    Post back.

You do not need SecureBoot and TPM to run Windows 11. It is in the official requirements, but not needed. My computer has neither, and runs Win11 well.

Neither. My computer is 10 years old and has only 4 GB RAM. No TPM or UEFI. It runs Windows 11 well.

It is probably worth upgrading the cpu to 3rd gen. The i5 3rd gen are a tenner or even less now. I expect there is a bios upgrade that will allow that for the H67 chipset.
