how to pertinently stop win 10 update

Every once in a while (and I just got it again on my laptop a few min's ago) I get the blue screen popping up saying "important updates are pending" even with the wifi turned off and no lan cable connected on both my laptop and tower. Both the laptop and tower have OS Win 10 Pro 64bit on them. BTW I don't have my build or version number handy for the laptop or the tower. I am still getting things setup after moving from 1 apt to an other apt. My sticky notes are still packed up and the tower isn't plugged in.

The following bellow I typed and saved a few days ago.

How do I pertinently get ride of the extra lines in the shutdown window. 1st off the extra lines in the shutdown window will popup even when the wifi is turned off and no lan cable is connected to my laptop or my Windows tower computer.

To temporarily get ride of the extra lines in the shutdown window I use the following steps typed into Command Prompt in Admin mode.

    1. sc.exe config wuauserv start= disabled

    The computer responds with
    [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS

    C:\Windows\system32>

    2. sc.exe stop wuauserv

    The computer responds with
    SERVICE_NAME: wuauserv
    TYPE : 20 WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS
    STATE : 3 STOP_PENDING
    (NOT_STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
    WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
    SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
    CHECKPOINT : 0x2
    WAIT_HINT : 0x7530

    3. Then I go into C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete all
    sub dir's and all files.
That gets ride of the extra lines marked with the red boxs around them in the picture until the next time Windows desides it is time for a new update. How do I make the delete pertinently?

I suggest you're being unnecessarily intrusive in what you're doing to your O/S.

A bit like fiddling in your car engine with a spanner, try ing to get rid of the noise your car makes when it starts, for example.

The computer in your description ?

    1.8GHz Intel Core i3-3217U Dual-Core
    4GB of DDR3 RAM
    750GB 5400rpm Hard Drive...

It's normal that you feel it's slow, If the machine worths it, you can upgrade the ram to 8Gig and replace the HDD for a SSD... It should make it bearable, but don't expect too much from a third gen i3U...

I have more recent machines than this that I keep On Win7 because I cant bare the slowdown.

Which updates? I have yet to experience my system suddenly coming to a crawl because I updated it.

I don't remember which update it is because I automadly use the temporary fix when the blue screen pops up saying "new updates are ready".

You have Pro so why not use the Group Policy editor to set updates to 'Notify' so no updates install without your permission?
Then take control of update-related restarts - see the Tutorial section
