    Windows updates

I have a Ring Doorbell fitted and I am trying to download the app to run on my Windows 10 Desktop pc.

The information that I can see at Ring.com is telling me that this app is now only available on pc's running Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update version 1709 or newer. I can see that my pc is running version 1706.

Can anyone tell me how I can get this version of Windows 10 please? When I look at my O/S in Settings, it is telling me that I am right up-to-date. I have been on the Microsoft site but cannot find this version.

I recently installed windows 11 but quite a number of things weren't working and so I have reverted back to 10 again.

Any help/guidance will be much appreciated. Thank you.

You can use Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10.

I suggest you re-check your Windows 10 version as I think you have made a mistake.
    - Right-click on the Start button
    - Select whichever is shown in the list - Windows PowerShell OR Command window / Command prompt. This is mine but yours might look a bit different
    Windows updates-start-button-context-menu.png
    - Paste in this command
    Code:
    WinVer
You will be shown the Version, Build number [that varies with latest updates installed] and, in the text paragraph underneath, the Windows Edition [Home/Pro]. For example,
    Windows updates-winver-ownerkeyv3.png
    - You can ignore those last two lines where you can probably guess I was playing around when I made that screenshot.

    All the best,

This should be the current version:
    Windows updates-1.jpg

Perhaps that is where you saw the '1706' - part of the full build number.

You were prompted to provide the full build number and told how (winver) by the forum when you wrote your post.

Information on builds and updates is available in the News section where there is a thread per update per build going back some months.

    You've already achieved that.
Version 21H2 is newer than 1709. The first two digits indicate the year of release.

I am confused.. exploring that site, it says

Going to to ring.com/app will automatically download the correct version for your operating system.
Note: The Ring app is free, but you may need your username and password for your device's store page to download the app.
    - but it doesn't.

    Security check

It also says alarms are not available on Windows.

This suggests it's meant for a mobile device not running Windows.

It also says you cannot use it for initial setting up.
