Group Policy on Windows Updates to 'Notify' - I don't think you know what that means. It's always worked for me.

thanks to all, i sorted it by using Steve Gibson's tool over at grc.com that enforces the 'latest '6 monthly Rolll-Up' updates to install, then you switch it back to windows... its cool, he always comes up with some cool tools that man! he has some great stuff....

edit: in-fact if anyone hasn't heard of him, you should check him out, he is one of the worlds leading computer scientist's & programmer, a very clever man!- Ive used his Spinrite HDD tool from USB and DNSBenchmark in Windows, as well as a few other tools
