    In-Place Upgrade...

    Pros: Almost always succeeds. I'd say... about 95% success rate, from all the attempts on this forum.

    Cons: You will have to redo your Windows personalizations. All your programs and program settings will be intact.

    Sounds like you are the IT guy, or just got tagged to do a quick job of firing all back up as quickly as possible. Either way you choose, In-Place or Windows Update, don't rush it. Systems being dormant for so long (you didn't say how long) may need some hands on during the processes. Best of luck.................

    I just came indoors, to revisit this thread, and basically suggest the same.

    @Chris Nicola,

    As TC, so nicely worded it, either way you decide to go. You or someone else should plan to spend a bit of hands on time, attending the process. Simply flipping a switch and walking away, rarely results in a perfect outcome.

    I wish you the best, as well.

    Please can someone advise me how to to update 3 Windows 10 computers to the latest version in the quickest possible way. I have to travel to the other side of town, turn on the power to the building and get started. These machines haven't been used in a long time due to the Covid situation. If I let them update normally in stages it might take a very long time. Will reinstalling Windows be quicker? Is there a special update only file I can use? Your advice would be appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Chris

    Last thought. I didn't ask, but if all three computers are the same hardware, then you can In-Place or Update one of them and then...
