    Hi, aggelos13.

Here are some ways to help (prior to my main fix):

    1. Make sure your antivirus is disabled
    2. No external devices (USB, iPhone, etc) can be plugged in during update
    3. Make sure you have enough space (storage)
    4. Check your Device Manager to make sure your drivers are correctly installed.

    Here is the main fix:
"Error code 0x800700c1 is usually the result of a connection issue, corrupted data, or a problem with your network.

I'd recommend before attempting any of these methods, make a system restore point, back up registry and if you have it, make a macrium reflect backup.

First, let's click , then type cmd and right click > run as adminstrator.
    Now, type net stop wuauserv
    Then type net stop bits

Open the folder c:\windows (in GUI File Explorer) and navigate to SoftwareDistribution (the folder). Let's rename this to 'SD.Old' for example (or anything you like).

Let me know how you get on,
    -James

Ok i bypassed the problem by renaming the folder from command prompt. What should i do now?

    Try to update again.

If it still doesn't work, then do an In-Place upgrade... takes about 45 mins total.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

    DISABLE non-Microsoft:
    a) antivirus software
    b) firewall software
    c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

Go here and get the Media Creation Tool and save it to your desktop.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

RUN the Media Creation Tool and use it to: Create an ISO image... save IT to your desktop.
This will be the latest version of the ISO image.

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.
