Removing or fixing updates that never work

    Win Ver 21H1

I keep getting an update version error about a Brother printer.
One odd thing is that the update appears very old, like from 2009 and the computer was put together in 2019 so that is a bit confusing. Maybe it's saying the DRIVER is old and there's no updates available?

If so, how could I stop that from appearing in my Events and Reliability reports?

    Thanks

    Download this
    https://download.microsoft.com/downl...owhide.diagcab

and save it to your desktop
    right click and click open
Run the troubleshooter clicking advanced to repair automatically - it will show you the updates available
and hide the updates regarding the printer

This also will help you understand the situation
Should You Install Windows 10’s Optional Driver Updates?
re if the driver update is optional in its listing or installed automatically and will explain the apparent dating error

I still don't know how to stop those messages from showing up in the Reliability Report.
The printing works so I'd like this update attempt / reminder to just go away..forever.

    Do not worry about them
    They will disappear over time
Your main job is to stop those updates for the printer being offered
I keep getting an update version error about a Brother printer.
using the procedure I outlined to you.

The failed updates are as you know, of no consequence.

If you really want to get rid of them from reliability monitor - although it honestly is not worth the effort, then you can reset the reliability monitor as here
Clear All Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows
if you look above on that tutorial you will see that this will reset reliability history

However as I said it is not worthwhile

But they do not disappear over time. In fact, the Updates keep my PC in a perpetual state of UNReliability (according to the Windows Reliability Report)

Every red X below is due to a terminated running program due to installing a security update and every blue mark is Windows Update attempting (and failing) to install a driver for my printer that is already working perfectly.

As you can see from the image below, I will never have a "Reliable" computer (according to the Windows Reliability Report) and it's completely due to Windows Update.

Nearly every day there is a Security Update and in the process of applying that update Windows apparently abruptly shuts down running programs, causing a system error, and causing the reliability report to drop every day.

I don't see the point in a "Reliability Report" if daily Windows Updates cause the PC in question to never be "Reliable"?
The days where you see no PC issues are those days when I completely disable Windows Updates using WUB_X64.exe.

Otherwise, every problem shown in the Reliability Report is caused by Windows Update itself. Not a real problem with my system. I would think no one has a good Reliability Report ion their PC due to this?
