Win10 (Home) Update Control (Possible/Not Possible)

I've been ruminating over this decision for a very long while, been gathering the money for it, and I decided by next month, ill be moving away from the Dell pre-fab computers and assembling my own piece by piece. I talked with microsoft if I could transfer my windows 10 over to it so I could keep the advantage of windows update control for Win10 Pro ala group policy editor and some reg tweaks, but their stance is my license is still considered OEM, so no go, and I never cared much for the bells n whistles that the pro edition gave, so ill be going to the home edition. But THAT brings the problem of not being able to use the group policy editor to control windows updates (yes im aware of the tutorial + .bat file that "downloads"/enables the Group Policy module), nor the reg tweaks I saved for that purpose since I was told a long while back the home edition will ignore them utterly, so I looked through past posts of mine and re-discovered some tools. I need to know if any of the following tools ill be naming still work with windows 10 (home/pro, but primarily home edition) today in controlling windows update and preventing auto-installs I don't want happening

Sledgehammer (formerly WUMT Wrapper Script, also have an OLDER packed version from here called Matthew's Preference)
Windows Update MiniTool (Standalone By itself)
WAU Manager (have it on my brother's desktop, but haven't checked it in a very long while)
Wu10Manager (only found about it today, don't know if effective with Win10's current state)

If any of these tools are still valid with windows 10 home edition and beyond, please call out which ones are, if windows 10 has finally become stubborn enough to not let ANY of them work at all but there's a tutorial on tenforums which can tell me what is good, show me please

I use Option Seven, here... and it's been working so far.

Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10

I can only vouch for version 2.6.0.0. I don't usually wait too long to do the updates using WAU Manager, so I can't really say how long it will "block" the updates.
But if I run WAU Manager and use it to "hide" an update... it stays hidden forever, as far as I know.

    Yep.

On Windows 11... even using WAU Manager, I can't stop Windows Updates.
    But I can beat them.
I have to boot the computer and open WAU Manager the instant I get to the desktop, and use it to check for updates.

I use Matthew's Preference on 4 PCs, no problems here.
Be sure to download the latest version though, it has improvements.

I downloaded an updated Matthew's Preference build from the tenforums tutorial, so counting sledgehammer as a separate package, I got 5 tool-based methods to hopefully control windows 10 updates for the home edition

if it ain't too much, has anyone made a video showing this script based method of control in action on youtube, or literally anywhere? Sure we got one desktop running windows 10 home that I could test it out on, but maybe a video example before I accidentally the thing. I don't mind if there isnt one

I use this on windows 10 Home. They state that the latest version works with Windows 11 (Build:22000)

    Download StopUpdates10 - MajorGeeks

My method of usage. If updates are required unblock via stopupdates10 then run Sledgehammer to check for updates and choose which ones to install. Once complete reboot with no internet (router switched off) wait for a few minutes then end re-enable WU block and reconnect to internet.

RE: WAU Manager. It's not guaranteed to completely block all updates.

    WAU Manager

    Note   Note

WAU Manager disables the automatic updates by setting up a group policy in the registry. Windows 10 does not respect this group policy completely. It will still search for mandatory updates regularly and eventually install them. Let’s hope that will change in the future when they realize that users want full control of the automatic updates.

I don't think that there is one. Read the contents of the CODE box in this post:

    Giving up on WIN10 Home

Then read the the entire post.
