KB4023057 Version 21H2 appears in Windows updater for a moment

    Hi

In Windows Update KB4023057 Version 21H2 appears and it wants to downloading but stops immediately at 0% and disappears.
Under View update history the update appears as Successfully installed on 9/9/2021.

I can manually check for updates and the update appears again for 2 seconds.

I run the Windows 10 Update troubleshooter. Didn't found any issues. Wanted to uninstall the update but it isn't listed under Uninstall Updates in View Update History.

Not sure if relevant; As Optional quality update available is cumulative preview for 21H2 (KB5007253). Usually I don't install optional updates.

    Any suggestions?

    @Traveler99

KB4023057 is a very small update, and MS keeps sending it out over and over. This is fairly normal.
First time I saw it was in Feb. 2021, and just saw it again yesterday. It's just a servicing stack update.

KB5007253 Is just a preview update of the Dec. 14, 2021 Patch Tuesday update. This is why it is optional. You can install it or wait... it's up to you.

I see. Thanks. But I still don't understand that Windows Updater still offers me this update. Over and over gain.

If you wish, you can check the Windows Update logs.

Why do you keep checking for updates manually? There's really no need. Is that the only time you see this? If so- stop checking....

Or do you in fact mean that somehow this keeps happening automatically without you doing anything?

Yes when I click on update manually it appears every time for 3 seconds. But it appears also when I do nothing a few days and then check updates (without clicking on check updates). It's ready there to install.

    Feel free to try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

    - you will lose your Update History (which can be one thing that update might do in trying to fix things...).

How much free space do you have on C: ?

Perhaps there is some minor issue with Windows Update on your PC it keeps trying to fix.
