Thanks @MaloK, I like this bit. I prefer to stick with having actual product keys whenever I can next time since it's just easier for me that way. Just purchasing a digital licence without the product key from MS Store was cumbersome based on experience.

Nobody is saying that you should buy a digital licence online in preference to buying a key. You are comparing oranges and bananas.

Because that was what I meant when I said product keys are 'superior' until you chimed in.

Put simply, my preference is a product key.

No point in in discussing as you cannot grip concept a key is not a licence.

Hello, I use an old Win 7 Pro key for Win 10. Something I noticed; the key saved on my machine is not the same as the Win 7 key. I always wonder how far it will go, if the key is changed when activating Win 10, maybe it will go forever. It's no secret though, that MS would rather you use Win 10, anyway you can, than something else.

Yes, the same happened when I activated Win10 with Win7 OEM key, it changed to generic Win10 OEM. :)
