    Hello @Mish111

Before you start the upgrade attempt, please do this:

    Download this Fixlist:
WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free

and then attach the Fixlog.txt and Filter.zip here.

Have you been able to achieve anything with the Microsoft program?

The entry in the Fixlog was a dead entry because there is no file, so I removed it.

You can see that here too, that there was nothing there:

    "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\TechSmith Updater" => not found

    Edit:

Did the installation and deinstallation of Java now work?
That tool ran for an hour - Thought it was hung but I let it run overnight. It finished after I do not know how long - successfully - and said to try again.

Control panel programs showed it was not there. But It showed no there before the tool as well but the tool had it. I did not try the tool again.

I tried uninstalling SOS again and the normal program uninstaller hung. It has no security features so I do not think that is the issue.

After uninstaller hung - I killed it by rebooting

    Okay.

If you have the SOS program as an installer, you can install it once and then try to uninstall.

Do you also have the Filter.zip package on your desktop?

When yes, upload it here too please.

    Okay.

    Delete the Filter.hive.

Download these Fixlist and run it:
WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free

After that you should have a Filter.zip on the desktop.

OK - I have one task to complete before I try - should take about 5-7 minutes.
