    Files attached - I think

Photoshop not certified for Windows 11 and running poorly for those who try it. Upgrade to 11 is not a good choice for me.

A key problem is the latest release of Adobe CC and Photoshop will no longer run on the Windows release I am on.

I need to add that I tried an update after Trend Micro and Acronis were both uninstalled. Acronis is still uninstalled. But to get the scripts to run I did have to disable Trend Micro. TM is now back on

    Thanks for the information.

Please update following firmware and drivers with the Packages from the Lenovo Website:

Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) Driver

    Intel Management Engine 12.0 Firmware

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver

    Intel Serial-IO (SIO) Driver

    Intel Bluetooth Driver from there:

    https://downloadmirror.intel.com/655...in10-Win11.exe

    Intel Wlan Driver from there:

    https://downloadmirror.intel.com/684...in10-Win11.exe

When done, Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool:
    Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Start the Farbar Tool and then answers the Disclaimer with yes:

    Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Disclaimer

Wait for the tool to say "The tool is ready to use" and then click on Scan and wait for it to finish.

The Tool creates the FRST.txt and Addition.txt file in the same folder the tool run from.

Attach the FRST.txt and Addition.txt here please.

If you haven't done it yet, please create a USB stick with the Media Creation Tool:

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

But don't try to update any more for now.

I will then let you know when you should start a new attempt.

    Thanks again.

Due to our time difference, I cannot always answer directly.

The BIOS is up-to-date according to the Lenovo website.

And in your case it's not a bios problem, I'm sure of that.

    Let's continue:

Uninstall Trend Micro as described on the page linked by @FreeBooter

    https://helpcenter.trendmicro.com/en...cle/tmka-18727

then download the Remnant File Remover Tool and run it too:

    https://helpcenter.trendmicro.com/en...cle/tmka-18603

You don't have to worry that you will then be unprotected, Windows 10 has Windows Defender included and it is now just as good as third-party antivirus programs.

You can reinstall Trend Micro after the upgrade.

When you have completely removed Trend Micro, please download the Malwarebytes Support Tool and run it.

    https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/...s-Support-Tool

You still have remnants of a probably old Malwarebytes installation that need to be removed from the system.

Caution! Don't choose reinstall at the end!

Update your Nvidia Graphic Card Drivers:

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL

    Please temporarily uninstall:

    CyberLink PowerDVD 12

If you no longer need Java, uninstall it and leave it from the system or please make sure that it is always up to date.

Your installed Version is Java 8 Update 251 and the current version is: Java 8 Update 311.

Old Java versions are always prone to security holes.

You should also uninstall older Snagit versions if you no longer need them, you certainly don't need 3 versions at the same time, right?

This is generally considered to be good advice. Also uninstall old software that is no longer needed.

If you have followed all of the previous steps, please start the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again and then click on Scan again.

Then attach the new FRST.txt and Addition.txt files here again.

Thanks - I have some tasks this morning - Just got up. One question now though. I previously ran a script (twice actually) that I found on a Microsoft forum somewhere. One of the tasks was to rename files. Do I need to rename the original files back. Here is the script and where I got it.

The second time I ran it I changed the name to .OL2 I still have the .OLD files to rename back if needed
One more thing. I still seem to have remnants of Acronis running. Is that an issue?

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...7-2428f8b31b51

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver

    Regarding question 1:

No, you do not need that, because this only relates to update installations via Windows updates.

And if it stays that way, that's not a problem.

    To question 2:

First I would like to finish the preparatory work with you for the upgrade.
Please do not do anything about this, I will do that later.
