Fast Guide : Why you should dodge upgrading to Windows 11 for now
- There is no "Start Menu" , they give you an old style "Search Box" quite similar to Windows 10 Search
- No "Windows Tiles" , but instead there are now things called "Widgets" but they do not cover the functionality or easy access of "Windows Tiles"
- You can't add "Tool Bars" to "Taskbar" anymore
- You can not Re-orient "Taskbar" , and while there is a registry hack to do it , all pop-ups generated from "Taskbar" become mis-proportioned with unclickable areas
- You can no longer right click "Taskbar" to access "Task Manager" longer leaps or short cut keys to get there
- No one setting to enable showing icons in "System Tray" instead you have to select them one by one to show
- "Notification Area" (a.k.a Command Center) is totally gone along with all buttons it held , few of these buttons related to networking were shifted to pop-up window accessible on clicking Speaker icon !
- Sound Mixer is removed
- If your PC supports "Stereo Mix" option it might be omitted for you
- If your device is "Touch Capable" they no longer widen the space between icons automatically so you can touch them without glitching , people asking for a quick fix were given registry entries to modify but the end result is that the whole icon becomes bigger but not the space between them
- "Background Apps" window was removed , there is no one place to quickly turn on or off what apps may run in the back ground , instead you can tweak that option through "Add Remove Programs" and looking up Apps within Desktop Apps and modifying them from 3 dots button
- "Cortana" properties were removed on the verge of completely deprecating it
- In Windows 10 you could set "Metered" connection to only apply for "Store Apps" but not "Windows Updates" in Windows 11 its just one option for both
- You can no longer drag and drop files on programs pinned or running on "Taskbar" to have them opened
That and what is left is Windows 10 in "Dark Mode" just ...
