One step forward and four backwards
Yep, each step forward you take. You have to do one more backward to revert "that" as a "Workable Desktop OS"

Which is BTW Windows 7 "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo contest It is running all my modern software beautifully. On a 11th gen the speed is "Incredible" !!! Many Rigs will run DX12, I find it as "true dedicated high speed gaming" platform: for advanced Gamers. With outstanding simple and fast memory and resources management.

The Start menu and taskbar where just the deadpan "FREAKING BEST"...

    Old timer here.

And I like to bring the 7 feeling to my Windows installs. it's more productive.

I am on an 11th Gen (i5-1135G7), but when I switched from Windows 10 to 11 my USB 3.0 flash drive's read speed improved by almost 13%.

It's not the performance or innovation, the problem is with the Graphical User Interface..,..

it's like in the middle of... No where !, In front of a knowledgeable client I have to...

Learn all the Cpl's, Msc's and all the shortcuts I can by heart, to not have to search for them in the GUI.

I learn as much Cmd's application as I can because they bring me right where I want to be.

As a user, Windows 11 just adds another layer between you and what you want to do.

And I'm not only thinking about sticking a stupid icon to the TB. Lollll....

Somehow it looks better on Ubuntu than it does on Windows.

I am an old timer and I am glad to say "Good Riddance to Windows 7". It is so technically outdated it is like driving a car without power steering, AC, electric windows etc. Good Riddance!
