Same. I think it's reasonable to wait for "prime time" as of the moment.

Yes, happy enough. took about 10 minutes to pin and arange the apps I want so they all appear together on W11's Start (including adding my own custom shortcut to All apps). That is much the same as I do for all my W10 machines, only difference is that they're Tiles not icons.

If you compare my typical W10 and W11 Start menus they are quite similar by the time I've finished my pinning/rearranging excercise.

For me by far and away the single most significant improvement over W10 is the Settings app. I have machines that are not supported to run 11, and a couple that are. I'm keeping all my unsupported machines on W10 for the foreseeable future. But I'm finding it painful to go back to the incoherent mess that is the Settings app in W10 after see just how usable and well laid out it is in W11.

What sense are you using to believe brightness and networking belong to Notifications ?
Basically I have no problem finding you happy about the new Start Menu , but for me and quite a bunch on the internet are quite looking forward to a hack to restore older start menu as this one seems like back to windows 7 era .

Second the majority of users tap into settings less often than they tap into the things discussed above , I mean to them settings is once every blue moon occurrence , on the other hand adjustments making the desktop confusing / less productive might tap into their every day use and lead them frustrated .

Finally the sense I am applying is similar to one living with a mad room mate who keeps moving a sofa all around the house in awkward locations , I mean just keep it in one place already so we are not driven crazy , its not about the place , its about the constant change so we don't have to look up for things that are placed in different areas without logic .

Yeah, but my new toaster has a windows key on it. And I think it has some kind of Linux port plugin to defrost the bread but the emulator make the system fall back to bagel and I have to reboot holding the eject button every breakfast...

I have to disagree with the title of this thread. I have not read anything in here as to why I should not upgrade to Windows 11. All I have read in here is why someone else does not want to upgrade.

Most of your issues can be fixed as discussed above and there are other fixes available using WinTweaker.

Whilst I am irritated by tbe start menu changes (retrograde IMO), the real deal breaker was the popup menus having a subset of W10 menu items and you have to click "more properties" to get rest of items. I was on verge of reverting until a tutorial how to get back to W10 style popup menus was shown to me.

In essence, the startmenu changes are an irritant but the popup menu new style was a major interruption to my work flow (extra clicks).

The main reason for staying on W11 is to get new features (not just poxy emoticons LOL).

It is not quite universal yet but the ability to run android apps will be a major differentiator.

As an aside, tying into Amazon appstore seems to be MS choosing to back the wrong horse again.

The Amazon appstore is nowhere as useful as the Google playstore.

MS should have learnt lesson over Edge vs Edgium!

As I said, I fixed the popup menu issue using a tutorial on this site.

I agree and took the precaution of turning off TPM2 in the bios to stop the nagging. I do have a VM of Win 11 to keep up with its somewhat static development.
But MS seem to be prepared to push Win 11 to the nth degree even if you seem to be not eligible
