Update Preview offered in Windows Update but the .msu won't download.

    My windows version:

I don't understand why KB5006738 is offered in the Windows Update channel but won't download securely from the Microsoft Update Catalog. See second screenshot where it states the .msu can't be downloaded securely in the red rectangle with the arrow pointing to it.

I use NordVPN and like to download my updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog when they become available because NordVPN speeds up my download times significantly versus using the Windows Update Channel through the Windows GUI.

Please help me to understand how an update offered through the Windows Update Channel cannot be downloaded securely from the source it derives from. It has been like this for the past two days and if it can't be securely downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog, then why would I trust the update through the Windows Update Channel?

We haven't figured out why crazy Microsoft isn't using a secure connection to download updates. Others have seen similar messages in their browser downloads recently. It should be fine to download and install - hopefully Microsoft gets their crap together on this soon.

I see, so this has been an ongoing problem and I am suppose to trust it through the Windows Update Channel when their own source says it isn't secure?

They are too busy rounding corners in Windows 11 and forcing security like TPM

The thing is, when I go to download it from the Microsoft Update Catalog, it not only states that it isn't able to securely download; .........it won't download.

It just gives me the option to delete the download that never happened.

I'm not sure, as I have not tried it because I was paying attention to what you all were typing and waiting for a response at the same time.

By the way, thank you to both of you so far..........
