Try3 already posted that in #6. Fact is, it makes no difference if there is a problem with the CU - because the workaround is always the same - reinstall windows. Windows95 Déjà vu
    Almost but not as drastic.

The Repair install procedure is not a reinstallation but a repair. You keep all your files & your installed applications.

    All the best,

Regardless of the geek semantics related to 'reinstall Windows' - the actual cause of the issue was likely nailed by Tekkie Boy, and the hours spent applying the reinstall band aid were pretty much wasted. Martin Brinkmann lays out the issue and the solution in his blog post - Try this if you are getting error code 0x800f0922 on Windows 10 - gHacks Tech News ".....The cumulative update attempts to install Microsoft Edge on the device, but fails when it recognizes the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\, even if that folder is empty." As Tekkie Boy noted, the KB number is not significant.

Glad it's resolved. It's always satisfying to find an exact solution- which everyone wants for free of course.

Bear in mind that the expeditious solution - had you been paying for time- would have been the in-place upgrade repair.
Respondents cannot guess what hacks you may or may not have undertaken- the problem was effectively self-induced.
You could have solved this a day ago.

That error number was associated with the removal of Edge in threads a couple of years back - I now recall such, but had though we were past that.

Note- I've unsubscribed from this thread, so will not see a reply.

Actually the issue is not resolved, as it is quite obvious that M$ is intent on Edge being part of the 'user experience' - like it or not. The fact that they do not reference the issue in relation to 0x800f0922 is telling. Your offered solution was not expeditious, but rather bogus and intentionally misleading - given that you were posting on this issue in April of this year. That sort of attitude might be expected from M$ 'Support' but certainly not from TenForums. Sept and Oct Cumulative updates will not install-edge.jpg

    That's rather unpleasant.
