Update Win 10 Home to 10 Pro

I have an Win 8 Pro key (bought from MS when it was cheap), my laptop from MSI is Win 10 Home, before i even think about updating to Win 11, i'd like to use this key to make my laptop pro version

Is this possible?

Consider: do you really need Pro? Or might you buy a barebones PC (no O/S) in the future with which you might use that key?

And does your existing PC meet Win 11 specs?
(Though there is probably still a way round that).

think my days of building PCs are over, got this key sitting doing nothing, had it since 2012.

my laptop is compatible for win 11 (MSI GV72 8RD) did the check yesterday

Yes, you will be able to upgrade Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro with the Windows 8 Pro product key.
