Networking is the same in both Editions.

Alas, not via ethernet cable. I meant to have said that, but was referring to that method anyway.

    Christophe,

    What difference is there then?

Hi Denis. Security certainly, unless I am much mistaken?. Can also be much faster.

I'm no expert on this subject, or any others for that matter, but that's how I understand it currently.

If I am deluded about this, always possible, perhaps you could explain to me how? I'd find that helpful. Thanks in advance.

    UPDATE

I just found this bunch of Google derived 'opinions' on the subject of ethernet v wi-fi networking It seems speed is a beneficial factor for ethernet over wi-fi, as is less radio interference and less network traffic along with improved consistency.

    Christophe,

I have never known of any networking difference between Home & Pro.

Thanks for that Denis. I'm very much feeling my way with this and hoping to set up a new and improved backup system. I produce a lot of work files in recording my music plus other types of files (mainly documents) though much less so. So a decent back up solution is where I am headed.

Networking aside, my other interest in Pro is being able to use lusrmgr and assigning permissions per programs. I am donating an old spare machine I have for public use by other residents in the community room of the sheltered block of flats I live in as one of life's old folk. And I don't want anyone being able to access any kind of system settings either. Keeping it simple and hassle free. But, hey ho, on we go.

    Christophe,

    Okay.

Networking aside, I know nothing about Pro or lusrmgr so I cannot provide any useful guidance.

From my brief search, lusrmgr seems to be an alternative to using Kiosk mode but maybe there's more to it than that.

Hey Denis. Well, I have never heard of that but, looking at the explanation in the Tutorial you kindly pointed me towards, it seems Kiosk mode might be extremely useful. I'm looking into this more now.

    Thanks muchly!
