Thats not the error from the problem update, thats the normal even when it calls for the restart.

Note the prerequisites required for the KB5005565 update...

If your devices do not have the May 11, 2021 update (KB5003173) or later LCU, you must install the special standalone August 10, 2021 SSU (KB5005260).

    KB5005565 Windows 10 2004 19041.1237, 20H2 19042.1237, 21H1 19043.1237

    KB5005565 Windows 10 2004 19041.1237, 20H2 19042.1237, 21H1 19043.1237

Thanks for that - Still having issues

I believe ive done it right, ive visited the link and manually installed the updates (cab etc as per link)

    Currently on 19043.928 [21H1] (Win 10 Pro)

Looks like ive installed the following now
    KB5003791
    KB4562830
    KB5000736

System said I didnt need KB5005260 (The update is not applicable to your computer) so installed KB5003173 (but this failed and reverted)

Same as before- installs KB5005565 and then gets through to 100% then says reverting changes

A number of upgrade failures with this have been reported- usually with an error number, which you might see in Update History if you've not noted it otherwise.

Whilst it may be possible to identify the precise cause of failure by analysing log files, this is tedious and time consuming, both on the part of the respondent ('us') and on yours.

The most expedient resolution (shortest, most reliable) is to perform an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any upgrade.

    Tutorial available.

    As @dalchina said... In-Place upgrade

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

    DISABLE non-Microsoft:
    a) antivirus software
    b) firewall software
    c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

Go here and get the Media Creation Tool and save it to your desktop.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

RUN the Media Creation Tool and use it to: Create an ISO image... save IT to your desktop.
This will be the latest version of the ISO image.

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will look like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.
