Download the latest media creation tool for Windows 10 21h1
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Run the tool following the directions and choose "Upgrade this PC"

If it works you will be on the latest version of Windows 10, however if it does not then its time to back up your files, create a Windows 10 media on a USB using the tool, then clean install Windows 10.

I tried that but it didn't work. I have the ISO file from the creation tool so do I just burn it to the usb using something like rufus then boot from bios?

Yes you can use Rufus, keep in mind you will need to change the disk type to MBR if you are using a older computer that uses it.

Hi, why are you clean installing build 1607?

As you've just done a clean install, why not clean install the latest build, rather than struggling to upgrade?

Simply use the MS media creation tool to create a bootable medium. That will be the latest.
    Then clean install that.

    A clean install means
    - booting from the bootable disk you have created
    - deleting any existing partitions comprising Windows (4 for a UEFI installation).
Is that what you actually did?

There is a tutorial for performing a clean install if needed... in the Tutorial section. Also about creating a bootable drive.

    Check your disk.

Assuming you were having problems that led you to performing a clean install, and you're having problems now, best check your disk. Hard Disk Sentinel gives you an instant informative appraisal- excellent. Functional trial.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and help me out... so after 7 hours of trying to use the windows update manager, checking the drive too many times along with a bunch of other commands it turns out that I just needed to put the latest ISO on to a usb stick and just do a clean reinstall.

I think part of the issue was that I was using an old windows 10 usb stick with 1607 on it and for some reason it broke a bunch of other things. As soon as I installed the latest iso file off the USB drive vs the windows update assistant, it worked straight away and I got all the updates working.

    Whats currently happening

It seems I still have an issue with booting out of sleep, it seemingly gives me a blue screen although I can't confirm this is always the case as I usually get not monitor input out of sleep forcing me to restart but 9/10 a single restart gets me into windows where this wasn't the case with teh 1607 build sometimes requiring 10 restarts before I would boot into windows. Today I booted from sleep and I saw the BSOD screen but with no text on my primary monitor.

I have tried increasing the hibernation sleep file, changing power settings to preformance and put HDD to sleep after 20min changed to 0min to stop the SSD from turning off but it seems this hasn't fixed it.

All drivers are up to date, windows is fully up to date, ram has been tested for 6 hours using two different test, I have done a firestrike and unigen benchmark, CPU and GPU seem to be working as expected, full drive health check and benchmark returns a healthy result.

I can't update the MX500 driver for some reason (drive) and booting the PC from sleep = blue screen.

When this was happening before and I actually saw the message it read internal_power_issue.

    System is

    R7 1700
    GTX 1070 FE
    GSKILL 3200Mhz DDR4 2x8gb
    Crosshair VII X370
    RM750w Gold PSU
    MX500 SSD

For BSOD issues - there's a specialist section of the forum with a tool to use to upload required data.
