Yes, there are several threads where that was reported.However, I had some time ago removed MS Edge (latest version).
This is the problem where people essentially hack the O/S - do something the designers don't expect, plan for or test for.
It would be unreasonable to expect updates to be successfully applied in every case where something delivered with the O/S has been removed or changed.
The difficulty for respondents here is not knowing what's been done to the O/S - its history- and then having to spend time trying to analyse log files, which are not very helpful or clear.
At some point the response becomes simple- rather than spend time (again), take the expeditious approach of recommending an in-place upgrade repair install, which is likely to give the fastest and most routine fix.
