What update? Updates were PAUSED(and, for the record, no notification of a need to restart before power failure). No indication that an update was installed afterwards. I don't know if I can make this any clearer.

The software that tells Windows to pause updates... is still software. A power outage can affect that also.

The solutions are an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or backup software.

Ok I took a quick look at the 21h1update, but didn't see anything related to this problem. Any info on how that version could fix this would be appreciated.

Its not about resolving why it updated when you had paused it after a power blip. is there something in the 2 updates that you are avoiding? i asked this but you did not answer. Breaks some hardware? Some software wont run? Just nervous because of internet chatter about an update breaks the computer?

Pretty sure a few 0 days are patched in them also, but my meds are making me sleepy so not inclined to go scour MS website

    Are you looking for this?

Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10

It can STILL fail. Use backup software.
