    Windows Update KB5004237. Error: 0x800f0922. Windows 10 Pro 20H2

I cannot install windows update: KB5004237. It fails with code: “0x800f0922”. Things I’ve tried so far:-

    1. Ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter
    2. Cleared some disk space on C:
    3. Installed optional driver updates
    4. Cleared the Windows Update Cache (Windows updates KB5004237 fail to install or Won't Install on Windows 10 [solved])
    5. Took any non-essential drives offline. I’ve since bought them all back online.
    6. Ran DISM.exe and SFC.exe scans
Found the below issue, but didn’t make any difference:-

    1. Download from here
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...q=%20KB5004237
click download on the right of the entry you want eg 20H2 - 6t4bit
second entry on the page as I had it displayed

SAVE the download to your desktop.

NOW place the computer in clean boot
Follow carefully the instructions please for the clean boot
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...a-a97a1807f3dd

now open the downloaded file - right click run as admin.

IF it installs return the computer to normal boot

In Windows 10, in the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig. (In Windows 8 or 8.1, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. Or, if you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search. Type msconfig.)

Select msconfig or System Configuration from the search results.

On the General tab, select Normal Startup.

Select Services, clear the check box beside Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Enable all.

Select Startup, and then select Open Task Manager.

In Task Manager, enable all of your startup programs, and then select OK.

When you're prompted to restart the computer, select Restart.
    ===================================================================================
IF it does not install report the error please and I will suggest further possible fixes.

    Update KB5004237. Error: 0x800f0922. Windows 10 Pro 20H2

Thanks for your response. I am remotely connected to the machine that has the issue via AnyDesk. Can this procedure be performed remotely? For instance, the clean boot steps involve stopping all Non-Microsoft services and start-up apps which I'm guessing would stop AnyDesk and I would therefore lose connection and not be able to re-connect?

I am sorry I do not know, if it would affect AnyDesk
Try the direct install without the clean boot
