My Desktop won't run Win11... So what!

I have a desktop PC that I built in 2012 and running Windows 10 flawlessly.
I have an Intel i5-3570K CPU with 4 cores running at 4Ghz and has 16 Gig on Memory.

I'm not a gamer or programmer and use my PC just for internet access and email.
The Microsoft Windows 11 test program when it was available said I couldn't run Windows 11 because the motherboard didn't have TMP. Oh gee.

So I looked to consider a new motherboard and an i5-11500 and the prices have soured.
So I did some testing of my existing system and proved to myself I didn't need Windows 11 and build a new PC cause this almost 10 year old tower PC is perfectly good until October 14th, 2025 when MS plans to stop updating Windows 10.
So no upgraded PC in my future.

I do have a new Laptop that is good to go with Windows 11 when the time comes so at least I will enjoy the best of both Windows 10 and Windows 11 when it is formally released the end of this year.

Just my thoughts about the new Win11 Fad.

Yeh, a lot of users are finding similar. And while I expect MS will want to maintain some standards of "technological modernity" (I read that corny expression somewhere), I also suspect that there might be some back-peddling before 11 is released (or by 2025), and there won't be so many users facing this predicament.

Did you consider bypassing the hardware requirements?

How to install Windows 11 without TPM 2.0

Someone on another forum has installed W11 on a PC with i3-2100.

I have the same CPU on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard. All works fine and Gigabyte still provide useful free technical support.

I too was looking at upgrades and put off by the current high component costs. I'm not doing anything now until I see the final requirements for Windows 11 and until hopefully component prices reduce post covid should that ever happen. My plan before deferring an upgrade was to buy a capable Ryzen CPU on a X570 motherboard. I've noted recently that Intel has started to catch up by providing a better CPU price / performance deal.

It`s way too soon to be worrying about W11, W10 works great and that`s all that matters right now

And I totally agree Steve, the price for parts today is ridiculous.

Not to mention the availability of parts.

If you can get past the installer's compatibility checks then Windows 11 will run on almost anything, no matter how ridiculously under spec. It's actually very easy to bypass the hardware check when doing an in-place upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have W11 in daily use on one of my laptops, a 9 year old machine with a Legacy bios and a 'previous' generation i5-M520 (that's what Intel call the ones made before the 2nd generation was launched).

Thanks all for all your inputs.
My system was built in 2012 with a motherboard Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3 Rev1 and i5-3570K Intel chip with stock fan.
The test showed my MB doesn't have TPM at all and my cpu didn't support it.
Not sure about bypassing but lets hope when the final version of Win11 comes out for the general public it may be or have a bit less security restrictions for the Home version.

Maybe I will backup my system and try installing the latest stable Insider Win11.

You have TPM 1.0 connector like my board. You can't get the modules and they do not meet the Windows 11 spec anyway. I suggest you install the Windows 11 insider version on a separate partition and dual boot with Windows 10 as I did on a laptop.

By all means try. My laptop's 'backup' is actually it's original HDD sitting in an antistatic bag.

It's actually easier to bypass the checks on an in-place upgrade than it is on a clean install. That's how I did mine, on a clone of its original drive.

But unable to download thru Insider Developer as it says I don't meet min. standards.
Am I trying to download the wrong version of Win11 thru the Win10 Insider download installer?
    I'm lost.
