Want to shut down WU !!!!
Hello, folks!!
Would appreciate some assistance...Have a 32 bit tablet/laptop, running W10 Home, with 32GB storage on the hard drive. All I do with it is some email, and some Googling for miscellaneous stuff. Nothing heavy. Was able to stop Windows Update from installing for a while, but something happened, and can no longer do so. Every time it updates get messages that there is not enough room on the HD, etc. Had to reset the machine a couple of times already, but the darn thing just keeps wanting to update.
Looked at all sorts of suggestions, and none worked. Went to Services, and Disabled WU. Found the following Registry edit, and, to my surprise, it only worked for a few days![HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAUShutdownOption"=dword:00000001
"NoAUAsDefaultShutdownOption"=dword:00000001
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAUShutdownOption"=dword:00000001
"NoAUAsDefaultShutdownOption"=dword:00000001
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001
Have no clue as to what to do next to stop WU from updating the machine.
Any suggestions??
Thanks for your help!
