Unauthorized win10 update just ran itself

just rebooted and saw UNAUTHORIZED update restart.

    running OSbuild 19043.985 -19043.867

thankfully everything installed OK, but then when I checked,

the HISTORY screen on Win Update SHOWS NO RECENT UPDATE

    Riki,

    Look in Event viewer.
    - Unzip this file then import its files into Event viewer using the control on the right, Import Custom view [you'll be asked to give each view a name and I suggest using the names I gave the files].
    - You have to import each one singly.
    Custom views - updates.zip
    - Then you can look through each of these Custom views to see the update downloaded then installed.
    - The General pane normally identifies the update concerned but you might need to look in the Details pane sometimes for extra info. [This line was added later on.]

Run the following batch script and see what update was installed.

    Get_Windows_Update_event_logs.bat

No authorization is needed as per the Windows 10 license:

I'm wondering who you expected to authorise it and how.. and why you regard it as unauthorised. Was there some message that said so or...just an opinion?

What was unusual about this compared to any others?

If you are concerned about unexpected restarts see

and more so you have more control and workflow is not interrupted.

    Thanks.
