    W10 v.20H2 update stuck at 49%

Currently v.1909. The suggested update downloads and then freezes at 49% of installation. Any solutions?

Also, is there a way to disable this update notification? I'm actually fine with what I have now.

Hi, you can permanently disable Windows Update if you wish. Tutorials are available.

    Please see the Tutorial section:
Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
Using CMD script and VBScript to control Windows Update

Or see Sledgehammer (free).. (older solution).

The suggested update downloads and then freezes at 49% of installation.
How long have you left it? Sometimes upgrades tend to do that, and in a few cases can take some hours. There are threads discussing exactly that topic of how long it can take.

    Random example:
Notebook: Installed latest Win10 Insider 1122 , install halts at 49%

Sometimes upgrading and not accepting updates as part of that works- e.g. by downloading the iso file and upgrading manually.

How long has it been at 49%? It took over two hours for my PC to update, and I think it was stuck at certain percentages for half hours at a time. See this thread: How long does it take to update from 1909 to 2004 on an HDD?
