    Update Windows with WUA Manager

Hello,Windows update (from the system) is paused until 26-April-2021.Started (today) to use "WUA Manager" (to get to know it), have some questions.1.In the "Dashboard" I selected to disable the built-in windows update and clicked on "Save and Apply", but when opening the program again from the shortcut, this line is again "Un-ticked".2.Shell I resume the "Normal" (system) updates ? It is said this "WUA manager" over-rides the system's setting about this.3.Clicking on the shortcut, I'm asked again if I want to install the program.4.There are some updates I installed manually before, they do not show in the list of installed updates in the program's window.Answers will be appreciated.ThanksMotim.Windows 10 pro, 19041.928 x 64Program's version 2.8.0.0

Have you read the online guide?
    WAU Manager
    - there's a link to it from the program.

There are other brief overviews e.g.
How to uninstall, block or selectively install Windows updates

I use WAUM everyday, and don`t have the issue you do.

Only the updates that you installed using WAUM will show up on the list of installed updates.

Where are you storing the WAUM icon ?

I leave mine in my downloads folder and put the icon on the taskbar.

    I use version 2.6

    Helllo,
    Thanks for the answer.
Yes, I read the guide more then once, and sorry, have still my questions.
For example, in the dashboard I click the program to disable the built-in update system, click on apply. But next time it again is un-clicked. Could not find an answer to that. And why am I asked by the system each time I click on the shortcut, if I agree to install it ?
Well, the other things I'll use the "Trial and Error" technique, have no other choice.

When you click on the icon does the program open immediately and look exactly the same as my picture ?

    Other than the unchecked box.

It sounds like you are trying to install the program over and over again.

I had a similar problem last year when it seemed that the settings were NOT being held by the program [ even reinstalled it etc ], so I ended up using the below. The strange thing was, that it worked on one computer, but NOT on another, I never did get to the bottom of it!

I used this instead and this is what I did . . .

    [1] Ran Disable Hijackers.cmd.
    [2] First screen: Selected (N)o.
    [3] Second screen: Selected (Y)es.
    [4] Third screen: Selected 2.

When I want to check for WU's I just run the + Windows Update MiniTool.vbs file from the folder.

    I hope this helps.

    @Motim

And what version do you have?

Mine looks like Brian's (AddRAM) does. It seems to work fine.
I put mine in a folder I created, called: WAU Manager in C:\Program Files

Here's a copy of version 2.6.0.0 if you'd like to try that...
Scans clean locally and at Virustotal.

Version 2.8 wasn`t telling me "OK you can close this" after an update. Version 2.6 does, so I use that.

    And unpause windows update too.

Check where the shortcut points to. Also search drive for *WAU Manager.exe* and delete any copies. You only need one instance. Failing that delete it and download it again. It is not a reliable method of controlling windows updates.

    Note   Note
WAU Manager disables the automatic updates by setting up a group policy in the registry. Windows 10 does not respect this group policy completely. It will still search for mandatory updates regularly and eventually install them. Let’s hope that will change in the future when they realize that users want full control of the automatic updates.
