Kb 4023057
I don't know why with this, but every time I go on Windows Update, it informs me the above update is available, and downloads and tries to install.
This happens every time.
Any ideas please ?
Thanks.

It's not a 'regular' update - plenty of discussion on it on tenforums going back several builds. E.g.
Update KB 4023057 Version 1803 failure code 0X80070652
Why is KB4023057 is installed several times?
KB4023057 Update for Windows 10 Update Service components - March 17
It's updated regularly.
- why do you feel the need to check updates manually frequently?every time I go on Windows Update
Doing that can trigger updates which otherwise might not happen in some cases depending on your settings.
A good number feel it's better to hang back a bit and see what MS may have messed up next...
I need to check to update Defender.
I think something's wrong though, somethings corrupted somewhere (such as registry or something ?). Maybe it needs removing somehow, and re-installing ? Not sure.
Only had this trouble very recently, although about five days ago it was necessary to restore the computer back to an earlier time, so maybe that is what has done it.
Defender should update by itself normally. Or have you disabled Windows Update somehow?
Otherwise you can set a scheduled task to update Defender if Windows Update is disabled or disfunctional.
Less efficient than letting WU do that in the background I suspect.
Well, just tried services.msc, and Windows Update is set to Automatic anyway.
I just routinely check to see if there's a new one for Defender anyway, but never had this trouble up until recently.

Just tried an elevated command prompt, and wusa /uninstall /KB:4023057.
Its just informed me that update is not installed on this computer ! Yet, it keeps downloading every time, and installing !
I don't want to block this particular update, as it should be installed anyway ? Therefore, I'd rather rectify it.

Gone to View Update History, and tried to Uninstall Updates.
It's not showing there anyway.
Run the "Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components.bat" Batch file from there:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)
and then start the Windows Update Search again.
Friendly greetings
Sorry for any mistakes. English is not my native language.
Thank you for your replies.
There's no need to continually manually checking for Windows Updates. That's done routinely by the O/S in the background. Suggest you simply let that happen and do not interfere, then see what your Update History reports.
No you don't.I need to check to update Defender.
If you have this absolute desire to check for updates yourself, why not disable Windows Update completely and use one of the 3rd party utilities such as WUmgr or that in Option 7 of the tutorial on disabling automatic updates, and do it all yourself?
Then only those whose check boxes you tick will be applied- when you choose.
