I.e. you can't just normally copy the installation folder from one O/S to another in general.

I copied the files I needed for games to run like Red Dead Redemption because I knew it would be a pain in the ar** to get that downloaded again.
I also copied things like music and videos frm the .old file, I didn't copy over any windows files incase one of them was causing my earlier problem.

The install files themselves are on my D drive.

Although it can be done, and sometimes does work, it is not recommended and more than often a recipe for disaster. C drive for programs, D, E, F ... (internal or external) etc for personal files.

Storage, I have alot of large programs. I used to have 3 hard drives now I just have one.
