Is your Radeon driver currently uninstalled? - just the MS basic one in use?
Yep, did a complete uninstall using AMD cleanup utility I thought maybe that is what was preventing the driver update (it has happened in the past and un/installing that way fixed it)

Yes, why not? Although SR issues are nigh impossible to fix unless VSS-related.
So I attempted it. This is the error I got: (0x81000204)

I am stuck in the infinite black screen with the white loading icon now too.

If you reset the PC you will need to reinstall drivers and applications.

Would this be a viable fix?

I would rather not lose everything but I'm running out of options. I can back up my import things on my storage drive though.

I am also having issues getting my pc to reset it does the same undoing changes and infinite black loading screen when I tried yesterday.

I tried both keeping my files and removing everything, neither worked.

I'm worried that if these are broken updates or something I could have the same issue on a fresh install too

Can you boot to logon, boot to safe mode, win RE?
Do you have bootable flash drives?

Yes I can boot into safe mode etc. I have a flash drive arriving today so I can't do that at the moment but I will do it as soon as it arrives

I would make sure you have a full back up of everything- from browser favourites to email (if stored on your PC) to licenses and scripts or configuration tweaks (if any). Personal data of course.

I.e. prepare for a clean install.

If you can get back to a point where you can try an in-place upgrade repair install and leave that for, say, 10 hours, that's worth a shot, I suppose.

Thank you and I'm running it now

So I have a working PC again. I ended up following the Custom Install page that zbook posted and using my USB to install it, then recovering my files and program files from windows.old. I have paused Windows updates for now but I have managed to get my graphics drivers installed and I am able to use my pc as normal.

    Thanks for your help guys.

Hi, forgive my curiosity- effectively you did a clean install, and then copied things from Windows.old.

recovering my ..... program files from windows.old.
This I don't understand- these programs weren't installed in your new installation- so what did you copy?

Custom Install Windows 10 I followed this tutorial.

It created a folder called Windows.old. when the install was done. I only moved game files and some programs such as Rockstar games and other games and placed them in the corrosponding locations on the new install to save myself hours of downloading again.

All I had to do was verify the game files in steam install a patch and it worked as normal. With audacity I just had to copy the program files and it started up as normal.

Though just had a look and the actual install location for these programs aren't the c drive they're on another drive, could be why this worked. Either way, I am glad I didn't have to spend hours downloading all of my programs again.

This method didn't work with Premier Pro though, I had to reinstall that completely
