    Taskbar freeze at start 20H2

Hi! I got this trouble... Using the previous version of Windows 10 (ver 2009) everything works fine. Every time I update to the latest version (20H2), either with the 2009 version from Windows Update, or doing a clean installation of Windows with the ISO downloaded from Microsoft's website, the taskbar freezes at Windows startup. ..

I found 2 "solutions", but in both there is a problem, I detail them below ...
    1) Wait literally 5 minutes (having Windows on an NVMe this seems like an exaggeration, totally unfeasible). Waiting for this exact time (± 20 seconds) the problem ends and all applications load.
2)Press the Windows key or click on the same bar, by doing this a sign appears in the lower left part of the screen where I can choose between "end process" or cancel. If I choose to cancel, it remains frozen until it reaches 5 minutes as I detailed in the previous point; but if I choose the option to terminate process, the taskbar starts working automatically. The problem with doing this is that the applications that have to start with the Windows boot do not open until I start them all manually (and there are quite a few).

TRANSLATE: The application is not responding. If you wait, the program may respond again. End process / Cancel.

I leave a detail of all my hardware:
-MOBO Aorus x570 Pro WiFi (rev 1.2).
    -Ryzen 5 5600x CPU.
    -RAM Aorus 4x8GB 3200MHz.
-GPU GTX 1070 ROG Strix OC.
    -PSU EVGA 500w 80+ Bronze.
    -M.2 NVMe Patriot VPR100.
    -M.2 WD Green.
    -HDD WD Blue.
    -CASE Corsair 465x.

Hello @MatiasGambini , welcome to Ten Forums.

Probably the easiest software solution is an In-Place Upgrade
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

    DISABLE non-Microsoft:
    a) antivirus software
    b) firewall software
    c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

Go here and get the Media Creation Tool and save it to your desktop.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

RUN the Media Creation Tool and use it to: Create an ISO image... save IT to your desktop.
This will be the latest version of the ISO image.

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will look like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.

And on a side note, I would consider getting a more powerful power supply.
    Something like this...

SeaSonic FOCUS Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (SSR-650FM) - PCPartPicker

I just end to do your instructions but the problem keeps going. Thank you to try it anyways.

You mentioned this happens after upgrade or clean install, do you install all drivers for your model after clean install?
only drivers manually downloaded from motherboard site for your model count.

I had similar problem once after installing chipset driver, so you can check that first.
Do you update fully windows after clean install?

Yes, this happens EVEN if I delete all the info from my ssd, reimage Windows 20H2 and the first thing i do is start in safe mode.

I'm sorry but you didn't confirm whether you visit a website for your motherboard model, download relevant drivers starting with chipset driver and install them to fresh installed Windows, because this should be the very first thing to do.

Thanks for confirmation, this is issue very likely with Windows explorer, you can test this as follows:

    1. Reproduce the problem (ex. by rebooting)
    2. press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC on your keybord
    3. Locate "Windows Explorer" in processes list and click "Restart" button

Does that at least temporarily fixes the problem?

When i press ctrl/Start or i click on the taskbar appears the notification of "End Process / Cancel" i've detailed at the start of the post.

I understand, when this problem happens do not click anywhere because it will make freezing harder to troubleshoot, but instead use keyboard only, there are 2 options:

    1. CTRL + ALT + DEL and then select taskmanager option
    2. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open task manager right away

In both cases try to restart Windows Explorer process.
You may need to prepare task manager before doing test by expanding default view to advanced view so that next time you need it you get straight to "processes" tab, which means minimum amount of clicking.

There are other options for same purpose to try if above 2 do not work:
3 Ways to Close and Restart Explorer.exe in Windows 10

This is all only to confirm there is a problem with Windows Explorer.
