    Thank you again.

    a. Google can inform you about general questions such as
'What is an in-place upgrade repair install'
and there is a tutorial in the Tutorials section.

    Searching tenforums for
    in-place upgrade repair
will give you plenty of results.

Effectively it's the same procedure as a full upgrade (which 1903-> 1909 normally isn't), which in your case would require a 1903 iso.

However, if you were to use a 1909 iso file, with no other issues, that may have the same effect - of replacing system files and creating a recovery partition. (1903 -> 1909 normally isn't a full upgrade but an enablement package, a bit more like an update).

    b. If you were lucky- you need to use a partition manager to create a suitable empty partition as the recovery partition, and ensure your partition attributes are correctly configured, then attempt the upgrade again. I.e. deal with partition basics, then see what you're left with.

I.e. there could be other reasons for the upgrade attempt to have failed - hence zbook's logs which I'll leave him to deal with.

Basically it seems you've created a somewhat unfortunate situation for yourself.
So i tried running the in place upgrade and it just says we are having trouble finding if your pc can run windows 10. I tried recreating the recovery partition from the guide you sent earlier but got stuck at copy winre.wim and reagent.xml. Where do i even get those files from? The partition is created and shows up as recovery. I think my efi boot is still messed up since it doesn't show up in msconfig and that might be why the in place upgrade doesn't work.

One way to completely recreate a correct set of partitions is to
    a. create a disk image of your C: partition.
    b. Clean install Win 10 deleting existing partitions of course.
    c. Restore your image of C:
    d. Attempt to boot- run Startup Repair if necessary.

During that, note the attributes of the partitiions created after the clean install and check your Windows partition after restoring the original has the same.

I don't really want to mess around with reinstalling. I recreated my efi boot partition and i now have an entry in msconfig. I don't know if my recovery partition is setup correctly but it appears to be and I'm re attempting the update again.

    The logs displayed many BSOD.
When available upload the V2 and DM log collector results from post #4.

    Run:
DiskParInfo.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

Tuneup.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

Post a share link for new LOGS.

Good, a step forward. Again, please post a screenshot of your partitions, advise the result of your upgrade attempt, then follow @zbook's instructions if problems and I'll leave the thread as usual with him.
